With Nintendo Switch serving as both portable and home console at the same time, its fans have always wondered if handheld franchises such as Monster Hunter and Pokemon would make their way to the system.
In an interview with Wall Street Journal’s reporter Takashi Mochizuki, Capcom’s Shintaro Konjima responded to the fans’ thoughts with the quote, “hope you enjoy it on 3DS first”. Though his statement sounds nothing closer to a confirmation about Monster Hunter’s arrival to the Switch, it certainly does provide hope that it might come some day. The main series of the game, Monster Hunter XX has exclusively been on all portable devices. With Nintendo’s portable console, there might be a slight chance for it to be made available on both 3DS and the Switch.
It is undeniable, that Capcom is showing some kind of an interest towards the Switch. The company has released an updated version of Street Fighter 2, called Ultra Street Fighter 2 The Final Challengers, which will be put to test the unknown waters of Nintendo’s new device. If things turn out well, Monster Hunter just might make it to the list of games to be launched on the Switch.
