The game and movie crossover

Fox’s upcoming movie Assassin’s Creed doesn’t feature any part of the game’s story. Even the protagonist, Callum Lynch in the movie is different. The movie played by Michael Fassbender has a separate story line and in-game models. The animus looks so different than that in the game, but we got to appreciate the special effects that happen during the spanish inquisition. They are just spot on.

Now the news is that the movie WILL feature some of the famous characters from the game that the fans are familiar with. David Wildgoose told the Entertainment Weekly, that there are characters taken straight out of the games and put into the movie. Wildgoose is the person responsible for leading a team which creates the weapons and armors for the characters in the movie. He added that some of the video game characters will be using the weapons he created for them in the movie.

But these characters aren’t going to be the ones who played the leading roles in the games like Altair or Ezio. He said that they aren’t main characters but very famous ones. This will certainly put the fans into thinking who these characters from the games are going to be. However one of the characters have been revealed as Abstergo’s CEO Alan Rikkin played by Oscar winner Jermey Irons in the movie.

Also Ubisoft have said that they won’t be following their usual tradition of releasing of an Assassin’s Creed game an year. This year, they are leaving the space for the movie to get the time and marketing it requires to give the proper hype for the movie’s release. But imagining from the data collected on the movie, it seems it’ll have all the ingredients required to come out as a good movie.

How real can the deal get?

How real can the deal get?

This is always a hot topic for all the PC gamers out there. The GPUs are really important with demanding games being released more often. But that is always the plus point as a PC gamer. We are always in store for better graphics with the constant upgrade to the GPU systems. The most desirable thing is to get the best deal out of a grpahic card. But like always it is a gamble. Pay more for better graphics or pay less for average graphics. It is never the opposite.

Of late, if your system doesn’t respond well to Hitman and Dark Souls III, then i guess it’s time for you to look for a new and updated GPU. AMD and Nvidia have new GPUs launched and the old ones are stopped. The RX 480, GTX 1070 an GTX 1080 are now officially available. But the cons being their price and their availabilities. But it isn’t like the older ones are trash just because the new ones have better performance and speed. Here is a break down of all the new cards released by Nvidia and AMD.

Nvidia deals

GeForce GTX 1080 – 8GB GDDR5X – $650
Dig deep into the 4k gaming with the 1080. The Titan is no longer the most powerful card on the list. The 1080 packs the graphics of two 980s in one array. Hence you can imagine how amazing the quality is going to be. But the drawback is the again the price. The founders edition of the 1080 costs 50 bucks more with $700. If the game is worth it, then this should be the choice no matter what.

GeForce GTX 1080 GeForce GTX 980
GPU Architecture Pascal Maxwell
Frame Buffer 8 GB GDDR5X 4 GB GDDR5
Memory Speed 10 Gbps 7 Gbps
Boost Clock Relative 1.4x 1x
Actual 1733 MHz 1216 MHz

Nvidia GTX 1080-9-650-80

GeForce GTX 1070 – 8GB GDDR5X – $440
This is by far the best graphic card on the list now. Although the performance is a little bit lesser than the 1080, the price is considerably low in comparison. Also the performance and the grpahic quality will not be in a much difference in comparison to the 1080.

GeForce GTX 1070 GeForce GTX 970
GPU Architecture Pascal Maxwell
Frame Buffer 8 GB GDDR5 4 GB GDDR5
Memory Speed 8 Gbps 6 Gbps
Boost Clock Relative 1.4x 1x
Actual 1683 MHz 1178 MHz

GeForce GTX 1060 – 6GB GDDR5 – $230
This is the cheapest higher end option among the Nvidia series is the 1060. On the performance and speed level it battles out the AMD RX 480. Being cheap and decent in performance, the 1060 is always out of stock and highly in demand.

GeForce GTX 1060 6 GB GeForce GTX 960
GPU Architecture Pascal Maxwell
Frame Buffer 6 GB GDDR5 2 GB GDDR5
Memory Speed 8 Gbps 7 Gbps
Boost Clock Relative 1.4x 1x
Actual 1708 MHz 1178 MHz

GeForce GTX 980Ti – 6GB GDDR5 – $390
The 980 was proced close to $600 last month. With the rise of the 1070 and 1080, this price has fallen down abruptly. Plus the performance is only a little bit slower than the 1070 and consumes 250W while the 1070 consumes 150W.

The rest of the GTX series are far from old now. If the GPU needs update, it has to be one of the above if the choice is Nvidia.

AMD Deals

Radeon R9 fury X – 4GB HBM – $400
With high bandwidth memory and liquid cooling as special features, it is still a surprise that the fury X goes for less than $500. Though its performance is good, the 1070 is better in comparison with the fury X. But one advantage is that, this is readily available unlike the 1070.

Key Features

  • 4096 Streamprozessoren
  • 1050 MHz Kerntakt (MHz)
  • 4GB HBM
  • 500 MHz HBM
  • PCI Express 3.0

Radeon R9 fury X – 4GB HBM – $520AR
The ASUS R9 is currently selling at around $500 and it is the competitor of the Fury X above. This is a good replacement if the fury X sells out or goes out of stock. Although once again the 1070 will always be a better option.

Radeon R9 Nano – 4GB HBM – $490
Previously we talked about the manufacturing cost of the HBM that is made with the silicon imposer technology. It is the same case here and hence it is $400+ in price. However, if you are looking for a good performing, a compact card then the Nano is a better option than the other two above.

Key Features

  • 4096 Stream Processors
  • 1000 MHz Core Clock
  • 4GB HBM
  • 500 MHz High Bandwidth Memory
  • PCI Express 3.0

Radeon RX 480 – 8GB GDDR5 – $400
The main drawback of the RX 480 is that it is always out of stock.  Also it is less demanded, as we have the fury and the 1070 in the top competition. Therefore they are less produced and not easily available.

Key Features

  • Unique full cover Backplate
  • 2304 Stream Processors
  • 1328 MHz Core Clock
  • 8GB 256-Bit GDDR5
  • 8000 MHz Effective Memory Clock
  • PCI Express 3.0

So there we go, we had all the top GPUs listed down. All of them differ in speed, memory and cost. But in comparing all of them the 1070 wins in every aspect of a pro gamer. The cost is reasonable, the speed is damn good and the performance will be superior to the others no matter what. When it comes down to speed and smoothness, the 1080 wins with a clear sweep.
